Clare Richardson is a news anchor and reporter for Germany’s international public broadcaster DW News, as well as a historian and filmmaker. When she’s not presenting breaking news in the studio or rifling through files in the archives, you can find her in the field directing documentaries.

Clare has more than a decade of experience as a journalist working in over a dozen countries. As a foreign correspondent she has covered issues including elections in Indonesia, the Trump White House, and mass shootings in New Zealand and the US, and asylum-seekers in Mexico. Clare is a professional VJ and mobile journalist with hostile environment training who has experience working both in teams and solo in the field. Clare was previously the World Editor of Reuters.com and World Editor of The Huffington Post in New York City. She has since reported from Brazil and Mozambique with fellowships from the International Reporting Project and from Germany as an Arthur F. Burns fellow in Berlin. She has taught video and audio journalism at the University of Melbourne in Australia. Clare grew up in Palo Alto, California.
